Pokémon GO increases spawn, shiny rates for new Pokémon Snap launch
New Pokémon Snap is the long-awaited sequel to the 1999 Nintendo 64 photography game
A brand-new Pokémon GO event, which increases spawn rates of certain Pokémon to celebrate the launch of New Pokémon Snap, has now started. This year marks the five-year anniversary of the release of Pokémon GO, a successful virtual reality mobile game that was first released in 2016. Meanwhile, New Pokémon Snap is the long-awaited sequel to the 1999 Nintendo 64 photography game.
Pokémon GO's development team Niantic has announced, via Twitter, that the in-game celebration of New Pokémon Snap's release has now begun. Specific Pokémon, which reflect the various habitats found in the Lental region of the new game, will now appear more frequently for players of the alternate reality adventure. Players are even encouraged to post screenshots of their discoveries to a special hashtag, which ties into New Pokémon Snap's core photography gameplay.
