Indian actress Sayantika Banerjee recently found herself at the center of a controversy during the shooting of a Bangladeshi film titled 'Chayabaj' with co-star Zayed Khan.

Several rumours also sparked surrounding her relationship with Zayed Khan.

She decided to address the situation in a recent interview. In her response, she firmly asserted her indifference to the rumours and criticism surrounding her actions.

She confidently stated that she had no need to offer excuses as she knew the truth of the matter. She even questioned the significance of two actors, a hero and a heroine, spending time together for work-related purposes, reports the Times of India.

Earlier, she claimed that she was harassed at Cox's Bazar during shooting for the film.

In what was supposed to be a month-long shooting schedule, the actress abruptly returned to Kolkata after only a week of shooting. Upon returning to Kolkata, the actress cited an incident of harassment involving a Bangladeshi choreographer.

She reported the matter to the film's producer. However, the producer has reportedly announced that if Sayantika does not change her stand, he will recreate the film even if it means changing the lead actors.

In response, actor Zayed Khan publicly condemned the producer's comments, distancing himself from the controversy.

Furthermore, Sayantika clarified her statements regarding Michael, explaining that her words had been misconstrued. She suggested that the choreographer's actions might have been unintentional and devoid of any malicious intent. She also pointed out that it was Michael's acquaintances who were spreading unfounded rumours about the incident.

Sayantika emphasized her commitment to professionalism and her willingness to continue working on 'Chayabaj' if the crew could maintain a professional atmosphere.
