Nintendo reveals The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2
Nintendo has officially unveiled a remake of the legendary 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing one of gaming's most celebrated adventures to a new generation.
Revealed during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct presentation, the announcement confirms years of speculation surrounding a modern reimagining of the 1998 Nintendo 64 classic.
The debut trailer offered only a brief glimpse of the project, showcasing a more realistic visual style and a refreshed look at Young Link. While details remain limited, Nintendo confirmed that the remake will launch exclusively on Switch 2 later this year.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest video games ever made, Ocarina of Time revolutionised the action-adventure genre with its transition to 3D gameplay, memorable characters and expansive version of Hyrule. The remake follows the success of the 2011 Nintendo 3DS remaster but appears to be a far more ambitious overhaul built specifically for modern hardware.
Although a release date has yet to be announced, the reveal has already generated significant excitement among fans eager to revisit Link's iconic journey in a completely reimagined form.
