Ityadi to re-run 16-year-old episode
In August 2009, a special episode of the iconic television programme Ityadi was broadcast, centred around the historically and architecturally significant Ahsan Manzil in Dhaka.
That very episode will be re-aired 16 years later, tonight at 8 PM after the Bangla news on Bangladesh Television.
Situated on the banks of the Buriganga River in the Kumartuli area, Ahsan Manzil is one of Dhaka's most ancient historical landmarks. Once the residential palace and administrative headquarters of the Nawabs of Dhaka, it now serves as a museum.
This episode of Ityadi features a memorable romantic song performed by popular singers S.I. Tutul and Shakila Zafar. A sweet, monsoon-themed song is also included, sung by well-known vocalist Samina Chowdhury. Both songs are written by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman and composed by Ali Akbar Rupu.
Ityadi is written, directed, and hosted by Hanif Sanket.
