GDC Awards: ‘Ghost of Tsushima,' 'Hades,' 'The Last of Us Part II' lead nominations

The Game Developers Conference, a games industry event typically held in San Francisco, unveiled on Tuesday its nominees for the 21st annual Game Developers Choice Awards.
Sucker Punch's action-adventure Ghost of Tsushima, Supergiant's rogue-like dungeon crawler Hades, and Naughty Dog's postapocalyptic The Last of Us Part II lead with six nominations each, including the coveted game of the year category.
Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Valve's Half-Life Alyx fill out the category. Notably, Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is an honorable mention for game of the year.
The all-digital GDC event takes place July 19-23, with winners revealed during an awards ceremony July 21.
