Exhibition on Murtaja Baseer begins on 22 August
A solo exhibition titled 'Celebrating Murtaja Baseer' will be hosted by Galleri Kaya from 22 August to 31 August. It will be inaugurated at 6 pm on the opening day and will be open to visitors from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm every day.
While Baseer is considered to be one of the most prominent painters of Bangladesh, his contributions extend even beyond paintings into research, poetry, numismatics and filmmaking.
He has represented Bangladesh in the Exhibition of Contemporary Art in over eight nations, like Germany and Poland, from 1973 to 2008 multiple times, putting the art of Bangladesh into the global space right after its liberation.
The exhibition will feature 46 of his works done in various mediums on both paper and canvas. It will also feature coins, stumps, photographs, letters, alongside other personal items from his collections.
Galleri Kaya is located in Sector 4, Uttara, Dhaka.
