Evanescence drop sixth album Sanctuary
Gothic rock giants Evanescence have officially blessed our playlists on 5 June, with the highly anticipated release of their sixth studio album, 'Sanctuary'. To make the celebration sweeter for the fans, the band has also extended their upcoming world tour with massive new arena dates running well into 2027.
The 12-track record, which features powerhouse singles like "Afterlife" and "Who Will You Follow", marks a fierce and deeply personal return for the band. Frontwoman Amy Lee has been open about how the turbulent state of the world shaped the raw, emotional energy of the new songs.
Speaking on the intense creative process behind Sanctuary, Lee shared:
"Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection."
The album represents a vital space for both the band and their listeners. Elaborating on the deeper meaning behind the title, Lee told the media:
"Music is my sanctuary. In touring the world and in playing these shows, we see that it is that for everyone. So being able to create a place where we can come together, human beings, and find each other and express ourselves freely, it's just such a beautiful thing."
Fans will not have to wait long to experience the new tracks live. The band kicks off their headlining world tour this month, featuring an incredible lineup of special guests including Spiritbox and Poppy.
