Directors’ Guild gets new leaders
The election held to form the committee of the Television Drama Director's Organisation 'Directors Guild' for the 2025-27 term has elected Shahiduzzaman Selim as President and Faridul Hasan as General Secretary.
After being elected, Shahiduzzaman Selim told TBS, "Any organisational responsibility is challenging. However, I plan to work with my colleagues through this organisation to improve the theatre industry."
The election was held on 22 February at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Selim received 271 votes to become president, while Faridul secured 222 votes to become the general secretary.
Voting took place from 9 AM to 5 PM that day, and the results were announced by Chief Election Commissioner Naresh Bhuiyan at 9 PM after the vote counting was completed.
Out of the 501 voters in this organisation, 446 members cast their votes.
The newly elected vice presidents are Rasheda Akter Lajuk, Firoz, and Shakal Ahmed. Furthermore, Tuhin Hossain and Din Mohammad Montu were elected as the Joint General Secretaries.
The Treasurer is Raihan Jewel, the Organisational Secretary is Moniruzzaman Lipon, the Publicity and Publication secretary is Md Nazmul Huda Roni, the Training and Archive secretary is Gazi Apple Mahmud, the Information and Technology Secretary is Sanjoy Barua, the Law and Welfare secretary is Preety Dutta, and the Office Secretary is Syed Rahman.
Additionally, the executive committee members elected are Sagar Jahan, Chayanika Chowdhury, Mahmud Niaz Chandrodip, Gitali Hasan, Litu Korim, Shihab Shaheen, and Hasan Rezaul.
