Chirkutt announces first studio album in eight years
Popular Bangladeshi band Chirkutt has officially announced the completion of their long-awaited fourth studio album, set to release in the coming weeks.
Sharmin Sultana Sumi, the band's lead vocalist, shared the news via a Facebook post, marking the end of an eight-year gap since their last album. In her announcement, Sumi revealed that while the band initially worked on around twenty tracks, ten have been carefully selected for the upcoming album. The title of the album remains undisclosed, but Sumi hinted that it will be revealed next week.
Chirkutt made their debut in 2010 with the album Chirkutnama, followed by Jadur Shohor in 2013. Their most recent album, Udhao, was released in 2017 and featured six tracks.
In addition to their studio albums, Chirkutt has gained widespread recognition for their work in film soundtracks, contributing notable tracks such as "Aha Jibon" from Doob, "Na Jani Duniya" from Aynabaji, and "E Shohorer Kaktao Jene Geche" from Bhubon Majhi.
The upcoming album is highly anticipated by fans in Bangladesh and abroad, marking a significant return for one of the country's most influential contemporary bands.
