Thousands of users have reported that Facebook and Instagram are not working properly for them.

WhatsApp, which is owned by the same company, however, did not appear to be affected by the issues.

As well as 12 thousand users complained about the issue in a website named Down Detector.

The issues were reported across the world, but not everyone appears to be affected, the Independent UK reported.

Many Facebook users posted on Twitter saying that they were able to open Facebook. But some of the important functionalities, such as sharing a new post were broken.
