Not the right time to talk about sports: BCB CEO
BCB has been pondering the situation for quite a few days now and decided not to allow players to practice despite an initial decision to do so from next week.
Life has come to a standstill due to the outbreak of Covid-19. Every sector of the country has been affected big time. Sports sector is no different.
There has been no competitive cricket since March 19 in Bangladesh. Although cricketers are trying their best to keep themselves fit, there is nothing like practicing on the field. That's why some cricketers including Mushfiqur Rahim requested Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to allow them to practice in Mirpur. But BCB declined their request.

Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, the CEO of BCB told The Business Standard, "It's not the right time to talk about sports. We have to consider the situation. People are running to hospitals. We can talk about all these later. ICC and ACC meetings are approaching, there is lot to ponder."
BCB has not yet taken a call on Sri Lanka tour which is scheduled in July. Former captain and chairman of cricket operations Akram Khan said, "The situation is worsening day by day. I think there is hardly any chance of Bangladesh touring Sri Lanka in July."
ICC executive board meeting will be held on June 10. The executive board members of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have met via a video conference today. Fate of Sri Lanka tour is supposed to be decided in this meeting.
