HC issues ruling on ensuring court safety
The cabinet secretary, the law secretary, the home secretary and other authorities concerned were made defendants in the petition.
The High Court on Wednesday asked the authorities concerned to explain why they should not be instructed to ensure proper security to judges and courtrooms across the country.
While hearing a writ petition, the HC bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader also expressed concerns over judges' security following recent incidents.
Ishrat Hasan filed the writ petition on July 16 after a murder accused had stabbed to death another accused during trial in a Cumilla court.

Supreme Court lawyer Ishrat Hasan stood for the writ petition while Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar represented the state.
