Dr Shahida Akhtar passes away
Dr Shahida, the wife of prominent Economist Professor Dr Abul Barakat, was the student of 5th batch of Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital

Dr Shahida Akhtar, professor of the neurology department at the Ibrahim Medical College and Birdem General Hospital, died of cancer. She was 61.
She breathed her last at around 7 pm on Saturday (1 May) after suffering from cancer.

Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and general secretary Dr Md Ihteshamul Haque Chowdhury mourned her death in a press release.
BMA prayed for the salvation of the departed soul while expressing profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
