Shakib steps down from MCC
The ace all-rounder was handed the ban for having conversations with a bookie, Deepak Agarwal but failing to inform ICC’s Anti Corruption Unit (ACU), which is mandatory.
Shakib Al Hasan has stepped down from the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Committee after being handed a two-year ban from all forms of cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The ace all-rounder was handed the ban for having conversations with a bookie, Deepak Agarwal but failing to inform ICC's Anti Corruption Unit (ACU), which is mandatory.
His ban, which will be initially one year barring any further contact with the bookies, comes at a crucial time for Bangladesh as they tour India for three T20I's and two Tests as the Tigers begin their ICC Test Championship matches.
