Counterfeit electronics, cosmetics worth Tk50cr seized in Narayanganj
Eight employees of the companies have also been arrested in connection with manufacturing the fake products
Police have seized counterfeit electronic products and cosmetics worth Tk50 crore from a warehouse in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj last night.
"Being tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch of police led by Police Superintendent Harun-Ur-Rashid, conducted a drive at Shimrail area in Siddhirganj," said Sub-Inspectors Khokon Chandra Sarkar and Abdul Jalil.
A large number of counterfeit televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners and perfumes of renowned brands were seized from the warehouse of Max Electro Industries and Moon Star Private Limited.

"Eight employees of the companies have also been arrested in connection with manufacturing the fake products," the police super confirmed.
In a media briefing, Harun-Ur-Rashid said: "Hajji Belayet Hossain, a resident of the capital's Dhanmondi area, has been producing and marketing fake electronic goods of various renowned brands in a rented factory in the area."
A case will be filed against the factory owner and the employees, the SP added.
