Cabinet approves SME Policy 2019
The policy has various special provisions for women entrepreneurs
The cabinet today approved the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) policy 2019, keeping provisions of special institutional support to boost the sector.
The provisions include – access to information and technology, and supporting e-commerce and start-ups, said cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam at a press briefing at the Secretariat.
The policy also has various special provisions for women entrepreneurs.
There are 78 lakh SMEs in the country that contribute 25 percent of the total GDP.
