The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will start selling dates at a subsidized rate from Saturday in a target to keep the Iftar item's price at a tolerable limit before the holy month of Ramadan tentatively begins from the middle of April.

TCB will sell per kilogram of dates at Tk80 against the retail price over Tk700 in super shops like Agora and Shwapno. TCB spokesman Humayun Kabir made the disclosure issuing a notification on Thursday.

However, a consumer will not be allowed to buy more than one kilogram of dates at a time from any selling point of TCB.
