The shops of daily essentials located in different residential areas in Dhaka city will remain open till 4pm every day.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday made the decision saying - the trading period of the shops has been extended to 4pm. The city dwellers will be able to buy their daily necessaries between 6am and 4pm from the shops located in Dhaka metropolitan areas.
Earlier, DMP ordered to close the shops by 2pm.
However, the decision regarding the kitchen markets and supershops remained unchanged. Those have to be closed by 5pm after opening at 6am.
The pharmacies and other emergency services will remain out of the purview of this restriction, said DMP.
The law enforcement agency urged all to cooperate with the directives.
