Senior Associate - Internal Audit
The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites applications from promising professionals (for the position of Senior Associate-Internal Audit) who directly report to Executive Director and the Chair of the Audit Committee.
Key functions and Responsibilities will include:
- Determine internal audit scopes and develop the annual plan
- Conduct quarterly audit as per annual audit plan and project audit as per management requirement
- Perform pre-audit on the procurement process, contract or agreement, advance payment, reimbursement and so on
- Review internal regulations, manuals, policies and procedures and contracts/ agreements
- Follow up management action plans suggested for identified audit issues
- Attend internal meetings and discussions
- Review and reconcile documents and accounting entries, and processes and recommend the best practices.
- Develop checklist, and tools for conducting audit as per plan
- Support management in the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
- Support management in implementing adequate internal controls
- Conduct review or verification assignment as per audit committee recommendation
- Assist in the preparation of working papers for various meetings
- Work independently for preparation of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly & statutory accounts
- Prepare master budget as well as project budget with justification notes and budget variance analysis with justification notes
- Review all financial records, systems and control processes of the organisation as per accounting standards
- Provide support to accurate and timely financial reporting on the financial activity of individual projects
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors and coordinate all financial matters with the Audit Committee of the organisation
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
The applicant should be highly motivated and committed and must be capable of displaying learning ability and a capacity to work effectively as a team player.
Required Qualification:
- Masters/MBA degree in Accounting or Finance from a reputed university. A minimum CGPA of 3.50 is required, which can be relaxed if candidates have relevant job experience
- Partly qualified accounting professionals of recognised accounting body (CA/CIMA/CMA)
- Minimum three years of professional experience with a focus on financial management and accounting in NGOs
- Proficient in MS Excel and excellent working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office, Outlook, etc
- Good written and oral communication skills both in English and Bangla.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities
A gross salary starting from Taka 55,000 per month will be offered to successful candidates, along with other admissible benefits. Compensation package will be offered based on the candidate's qualifications, suitability and experience.
