Job Context

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will regularly work with other club officials, coaches and other club volunteers and act as the voice of the club when dealing with the media and wider public. The PRO is responsible to create best image of the club to the public and keeping existing members aware of the latest initiatives and engaged in club activities.
Job Responsibilities

Keeping members and ex-pats up-to-date with news and club fundraising through social media, app notifications and club newsletters.

Monitor social media to ensure club is not inadvertently misrepresented.

Distribute club posters (e.g. fixture announcements, social events) to local businesses, educational institutions and community centers.

Communicating with team and club sponsors (keeping sponsors up-to-date with club progress).

Documenting communications with third parties and collating news for future reference.

For public events on club grounds the PRO should well presented of the club to the public (grounds/clubhouse etc.) and coordinates other volunteers in this effort.

Sharing team sheets with league /federation officials / local media organizations.

Proven track record of securing national mainstream media placements across TV, digital, print and/or audio as well as common sports media outlets.

Established relationships among outdoor/sports editors and writers a plus.

Understanding - both consumer and trends - of the diverse media and sports media landscape

Track record of delivering results against tight deadlines.

Distributing club notes and match reports to local newspapers/sports magazine etc.
Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Media & Journalism, Marketing, Communications or similar field preferred.
Experience Requirements

2 to 4 year(s)

Additional Requirements

The PRO should be detail-oriented, have a good general awareness of local affairs in sports and capable of managing a wide variety of tasks at the same time.

Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and presentations.

Strong planning, prioritization and project management competencies.

Able to travel as needed; work flexible hours/days of week and weekends.

Ability to work under pressure.

Excellent knowledge over MS Office program.
