Overall purpose:
The Project Officer will work within multiple BBC Media Action projects, providing day-to-day support to the Project Manager and other members of the project team and ensuring smooth practical operation of training, partnership and other project activities. He/she will also contribute to general administrative and operational support needs within the BBC Media Action Bangladesh office.
Main Duties & responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and manage the day to day running of the project, assisting the Project Manager to ensure that all aspects are completed on time and within the agreed budget.
- Assist the Project Manager to manage the project budget, exercising a degree of judgment to ensure that financial targets are met.
- Support to identify risks and issues that threaten the successful delivery of the projects and work with the Project Manager to propose solutions.
- Assist in writing monthly, quarterly or annual progress reports of the project and other documents needed to ensure the reporting and development of the project, including collating and compiling inputs from other consortium partners.
- Work closely with project personnel, consultants, consortium partners and delivery partners for timely delivery.
- Lead the administrative and practical organisation for all project events, internal and external.
- Work with the BBC Media Action administration, finance and HR teams to ensure that the project follows all procurement, contracting, travel, editorial and other policies and processes.
- Ensure that paper and electronic filing systems related to the project are appropriate, accurate and regularly updated.
- Co-ordinate and drive editorial and administrative sign-off processes for project deliverables.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Project Manager.
- Any other tasks commensurate with the role as assigned by the line manager
Skills, knowledge and experience requirements:
