Project Manager - HYSAWA

Purpose

HYSAWA is going to implement a SafePani pilot project to test water service delivery model in rural Bangladesh. The pilot will be in Khulna Division for a period of up to 24 months starting in 2021. The programme will be implemented through partnership with the REACH project (University of Oxford), the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), UNICEF, BUET, ICDDR,B, Dhaka University).

Objectives of the pilot :

• To demonstrate the SafePani model in three unions for a 12-month period;
• To test the model for different water supply systems, including small piped schemes, pond sand filters, and desalination plants, for communities, schools and healthcare facilities;
• To establish water safety plans, water quality monitoring, management and treatment and setup a laboratory for this purpose in partnership with DPHE, Oxford and icddr,b;
• To establish a standardized water quality reporting system that will be used for decision making especially in emergency settings;
• To develop a results-based funding model to promote a sustainable and scalable model;
• To build capacity in local private sector partners delivering the model to promote national learning and uptake;
• To ensure no harm to water users by observing ethical standards aligned to global best practice.

Principle Accountability    

• The Project Manager will lead and manage the overall programming (planning, management, coordination, implementation) and monitoring of project activities.
• Manage a team of professionals; setting operational plan and targets and manage performance of staff
• Coordination with Donor, different stakeholders and local government functionaries
• Ensure all project reporting requirements of donors and local coordination systems

Entry Requirements: Minimum graduate with 10 years experiences to perform desired responsibilities

Important requirement: Speaking and writing skills in English, skill in computer applications and online platforms.
