As a public-benefit Federal Government organisation, GIZ supports the German Government, particularly the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implementing development projects. In Bangladesh, GIZ is implementing the technical cooperation projects in the areas of energy, climate change, textile, human rights under the bilateral agreement, signed on 15 July 1972 between the Bangladesh and German Governments.
GIZ Bangladesh now invites applications for the position "Project Assistant" for the 'Textile, Garment and Leather' Cluster.

Job Location: Dhaka
A. Responsibilities
The position holder is responsible for the below tasks:
Cluster Level
- Support the Finance& Admin Unit of the Cluster
- Convey assistance to all Modules at the Cluster level in gathering and documenting the financial update towards the Government partners – TAPP related
- Draft and save accordingly communication with the government liaison authorities
STILE/IGS/FABRIC Projects:
- Support the Technical staff in liaising with the Ministry of Commerce
- Supporting in identifying and eventually managing working space at the Ministry of Commerce
B. Tasks (Main Job Role & Specific Job Role)
- Desk work in coordination with the Finance & Admin Team to enable smooth reporting to all Government agencies related to the hosting and implementation of projects (Prodoc, TAPP, RTAPP, IMED reporting).
- Assisting with any other relevant administrative or reporting process.
- Supporting the technical colleagues in charge of Government liaison in any required manner.
- Engaging in support to the Ministry of Commerce based on instructions from the Advisor in charge of the liaison with the MoC
- Maintain awareness of GIZ policies and procedures
- Maintain awareness of Government of Bangladesh policies and procedures for development project approval
- Maintain and update communication details of government stakeholders and records of 'what happened when'
- Track the financial record of any Govt reporting with GIZ financial guideline.
- Assists with planning, coordinating and documenting any Govt. meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical and financial aspects
C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or any relevant subject
Professional experience
- Minimum 1 (one) year in relevant occupational experience
- Knowledge or professional experience with international development organization, textile and garment sector, international trade and development
- Experience of managing complex stakeholder structure
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of Bengali
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of English is an asset
- Good organizational skills and management expertise
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
- Ability to work in an intercultural environment
- Professional appearance
- Diplomatic approach in communication with stakeholders
