U.S. Embassy Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Motor Pool Supervisor (Deputy).
The Deputy Motor Pool Supervisor is the operational manager responsible for the daily oversight of the use and maintenance of motor vehicles and chauffeurs to provide efficient transportation service to all ICASS serviced agencies, official visitors, and Other Authorized Use customers, which exceed 5500 trips per month. The incumbent reports directly to the Motor Pool Supervisor and serves as a backup in the absence of the Supervisor.
Plans, directs, and coordinates motor pool operations for the Embassy and associated agencies under ICASS. Responsible for daily operations of fleet management of over 100 vehicles that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ensures that all required reports are completed on time, monitors vehicle and mileage for billing customers. Schedules chauffeurs and vehicles for all field trips and VIP visits. Tracks medical clearance and drivers' licenses to ensure all drivers are in compliance with regulations. Serves as direct supervisor for 3 Front Officer chauffeurs, 4 dispatchers, 1 administrative assistant cum dispatcher, and 1 administrative clerk. Provides work guidance to 56 drivers, 4 MSG drivers, and all incidental drivers. Works closely with the supervisor on any issues relating to motor pool including employees/HR concerns. Operationally responsible for ensuring that data and reports are prepared for ad hoc requests from customers for vehicle expenses, optional travel modes, and policy related information.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in arts, Commerce or Science is required. (U.S. equivalent college studies). (You must attach a copy of your degree certificate along with your application form.)
- Two years of administrative/office experience with a strong focus on computer skills. In addition, two years of supervisory/managerial experience required.
- Good working Knowledge (Level III) in English and in Bangla required. This may be tested.
- Demonstrated communication skills involving customer complaint resolution, and policy articulation are required. Computer skills involving Microsoft Office Suite products and formatting memorandums are required. Must be able to maintain and produce on request accurate records of vehicle use and maintenance, employee records, and safety records. Incumbent must be able to effectively manage a staff in excess of 50.
