Context:
BBC Media Action is the BBC's international development charity. We use media and communications to reduce poverty and promote human rights in developing countries. We partner with civil society, local media and others to produce creative programmes in multi-media formats which inform and engage audiences around key development issues and strengthen the media sector through capacity building. Our work is built on insights from our research and engagement with communities and is focused on three key themes: governance and human rights, health and resilience.
Overall purpose:
The purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive administrative, coordination, liaison, and communication assistance to the Country Director. The role will be responsible for a broad range of administrative tasks e.g., the handling and direction of queries, maintenance of records, acting as the first point of contact for the Country Director and Senior Management Team, coordination of projects and activities.
Main Duties & responsibilities:
- Organise key team meetings including coordination and distribution of agendas, supporting documents, production and distribution of minutes, and follow-up on outstanding actions.
- Assess the range and volume of work to be undertaken for the day or days ahead and plan to ensure work is completed to time and to an appropriate standard.
- Maintain, efficiently operate, and improve a range of office processes and administrative systems (including filing) to ensure the smooth running of the Senior Management Team.
- Coordinate the preparation of key accountability paperwork for SMT meetings, including a performance "dashboard"
- Assist Administration Dept. in coordinating and implementing all logistical office functions, including travel, cars, accommodations, and other support activities.
- Work closely as and when required with the Logistics and Administration Officers in managing and overseeing efficient and professional office management, including all essential office services and supplies.
- Maintain proper relationship and contacts with all embassies, government officials, donor agencies and other external stakeholders
- Assist Country Director to prepare confidential reports
- Any other duties as assigned by the Country Director or designee those are required to ensure professional and efficient management of logistics and administrative functions of the BBC Media Action Bangladesh office

The role may involve working with groups of vulnerable children and adults.
