Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 upazila focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB) Chattogram Region is looking for suitable candidates (men and women) for immediate appointment for Family and Community Level Cyclone Preparedness Project (FCCPP) as well as to prepare a panel list of qualified and deserving candidates for future recruitment where required under Caritas Chattogram Region.

Job Responsibilities
-
The Junior Program Officer (DM) will be based at Chattogram Regional level and support to Upazila Field Offices to implement the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) activities, field level structural /non-structural, CFW governess related interventions as well as to be provided programmatic and technical support for the implementation of rural infrastructures in accordance with the design, specification and plan ensuring desired quality. He/she will provide technical support to the contractors, mason groups and water user committee during implementation of the schemes and monitoring implementation of the schemes.

Provide training to field staff and monitor standards all DM & DRR project activities and construction and work.

Undertake field visit at project area as per demand of the project and make individual plan for collecting data for project monitoring purpose.

Conduct Need assessment (Join/Rapid), baseline, Midline and End line surveys on family profile along with PDM, feedback mechanism of the project working/ implementing areas.

Monitor the progress and quality of project implementation in the field & to be .

Support field officer and supervisors in monitoring ongoing projects; review and crosscheck data to ensure accuracy.

Communicate with DC, UNO & UP chairman for collect different NOC and clearance certificate/doc.

Assist Program Officer (Disaster Management) for DM related task and technical drawing, PR/BoQ, etc.

Assist as or when required for any research to develop more DRR activities.

Assist to prepare of daily, weekly or other progress reports, case studies & other relevant works of the projects for donors, Government and Caritas independently.

Work & lead the team during any interventions during emergency disaster situations.
Educational Requirements: Diploma in civil engineering
Experience Requirements: At least 3 year(s)
Additional Requirements
-
Minimum three (3) years' experience of working in the Structural Digester Mitigated, site development, Retention wall,, road construction, bridge construction etc.

Knowledge of minimum Shelter and Settlement standards & DRR.

Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point). Knowledge in Auto Cad operating will added value.

Excellent verbal and written skills in Bangla and English is required. Chittagongian language will added advantage.

Skilled in Motor Cycle with valid Driving license.

Candidates from Chattogram division and knowing local language will be added value.
Salary

Tk. 30000 (Monthly)

Consolidated Salary during probation period: Tk. 30,000/-
