The Opportunity
The is a senior position within Save the Children in Bangladesh, based in country head office in Dhaka, directly reporting to the Country Director. Applying a Security Risk Management and Administrative Compliances approach, this position will be responsible to ensure safety and security management of all SCI staff and properties (both leased and owned) and the smooth functional operations of SCI facilities and support in administration unit. The position holder will also be responsible to maintain all administrative items, assets and safety and security equipment and closely coordinate with other functions across organization.
Some other key areas of responsibilities:
- Work closely with operations regarding specific security risks and threats related to program and project implementation
- Conduct periodic Security Risk Assessment (SRA) and Threat & Vulnerability Assessment (TVA) for SCI offices and programs
- Closely work with the Risk Management Department and contribute to the BdCO Risk Management Plan (RMP)
- Design and update emergency evacuation plans for all offices and socialized.
- Reporting and Managing incidents happening within SCI facilities and programmatic areas
- Respond to any natural or man-made disasters or emergency situation as per Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) and support a humanitarian response operation accordingly
- Ensure lease agreements are prepared for Dhaka and all field office / sub-offices, expatriate houses and all other facilities under SCI management.
- Responsible for significant contribution to development of country specific administrative policies and ensure SC-BdCO operations are in line with policies and procedures
- Liaison/establish relation with UN, LEAs (law enforcement agencies) and other Govt stakeholders related to organizational, administrative and safety & security operations
Qualifications and experience
- At least 10 years of working experience in the field of administration and safety and security in reputed large organization, including 5 years in management position.
- Demonstrated experience in working with INGO/UN, MNCs, Military and Law Enforcement Agencies will be an advantage
- Cross-functional working experience is highly desirable, esp. related to areas like Emergency / Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Organizational Resilience.
- Excellent understanding on large administrative responsibilities and on the safety and security current issues and measures including equipment.
- Technical skills on experience in introducing Administrative and Safety & Security measures and precautions
- Excellent networking skills, particularly with different government entities, law enforcement agencies and military
- Good sense of alertness and decision-making skills
- Hands-on experience on managing a large and diverse team
- Ability and willingness to work under immense pressure situation
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Master's Degree, preferably in Business Administration/Management Public Administration or relevant discipline
