Position: Funding Officer

Our Team:
Oxfam in Bangladesh's Funding team is led by the Funding Manager who is accountable for overall team oversight, and line management of the Funding Co-ordinator (Response) and Funding Officer. The team's primary purpose is to secure and manage funds for the country programme, to support resourcing and implementation of Oxfam's strategic and operational priorities in Bangladesh. Funding team members work in close collaboration and coordination with Programme and Business Support teams across the Oxfam confederation.
The Role:
The Funding Officer will provide support to the rest of the Funding team to: a) track funding opportunities and secured funds b) ensure compliance with Oxfam contract management and donor contract requirements c) ensure project proposals and reporting are timely and of high quality, and d) maintain updated records of key contractual documentation and relevant communications for audit readiness on the grant management system.
What we are looking for:
Funding Officer will require to be exceptional, dedicated, and highly motivated professional, with a strong commitment to Oxfam's values and beliefs with the following qualification and competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Development or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience with preferred experience in grants / funding team in development and humanitarian sectors
- At least 2 years of experience in a role working on grant proposals and report or grant compliance
- Good team player and able to adapt to different cultures
- Demonstrated success in proposal development for a range of institutional donors including UN donors
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Development or a related discipline/field.
- 3 years of relevant experience with preferred experience in grants / funding team in development and humanitarian sector
- At least 2 years of experience in a role working on grant proposals and report or grant compliance
- Good team player and able to adapt to different cultures
- Demonstrated success in proposal development for a range of institutional donors including UN donors
- Experience of working in a high-pressured, results focused and dynamic environment.
- Good understanding of donors and donor requirements and good networking skills
- Good understanding of budget development and financial reporting
- Good organisational and prioritisation/planning skills
- Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft office, Peoplesoft.
- Proven knowledge of gender issues
- Confident strong communicator and networker
- Very high attention to detail is essential
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
Desirable
- Master's degree in relevant discipline.
- 5 years of relevant experience with preferred experience in grants / funding team development and humanitarian sectors
- 2 years of experience in resource mobilisation and contract management.
- Ability to make effective, timely decisions and take prudent risks.
- Good familiarity with government decision-making processes, both political and technical, including budget processes, appropriation,
- protocols, and communications.
- Knowledge and understanding of Oxfam's WaSH and EFSVL programmes, in emergencies and development contexts.
