Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE), the premier stock exchange of Bangladesh, invites applications for the position of Financial Controller. DSE is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven, and highly competent professional to oversee its financial control operations and support the organization's strategic and operational objectives. The Financial Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of DSE's financial framework.
Major Roles/Responsibilities:
Financial Control & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with corporate policies and Bangladesh Accounting Standards (BAS);
- Prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and variance analysis;
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities;
- Analyze budget vs. actual performance;
- Maintain complete and up-to-date financial records.
Internal Control & Compliance:
- Develop, monitor, and enforce strong internal control procedures;
- Ensure proper internal control and compliance of processes and policies;
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and statutory guidelines in Bangladesh;
- Coordinate with external auditors during audit and follow up on observations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and rolling forecast;
- Collaborate with department heads to align budgets with strategic priorities;
- Review budget proposals for accuracy and feasibility.
Cash and Treasury Management:
- Monitor cash flows and prepare cash flow forecasts;
- Support treasury activities including fund disbursement, bank reconciliations, and daily cash monitoring;
- Ensure accuracy of bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Analysis & Decision Support:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support managerial decision-making:
- Evaluate financial performance of operations and prepare KPI dashboards;
- Support pricing, cost control, and profitability analysis.
Required Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred);
- Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or financial control;
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership position
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including BAS and IFRS;
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel;
- Sound understanding of tax compliance and audit processes in Bangladesh;
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail;
- Strong communication skills in both English and Bengali;
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally;
- High standards of integrity and confidentiality;
- Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
Additional Qualification:
- Professional credentials such as CA/CMA/ACCA/CFA are preferred;
- Experience in a Multinational Company (MNC) or FMCG environment is an added advantage;
- Experience working in a regulated financial institution or capital market environment is preferred.

Important Information:
Job Location: Dhaka
Reporting : Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Restriction : During the period of employment, the Financial Controller or their dependents shall not engage in the investment or trading of securities listed or to be listed on DSE.
