Responsibilities & Context
- Manage end-to-end different kinds of Woven and knit fabric along with trims and Interlining sourcing & development.
- Polyester and Poly stretch, Poly-amaide, Cotton and cotton stretch, Viscose, Rayon, Fleece.·
- Denim, non-denim, knit, twill, satin, Canvas, oxford, matt, popeline, melange, Dobby/ Jacqured, Bed ford cord or ottoman, Corduroy, Caverly Twill.·
- Look over fabric's technical / quality/test issues for different customers.·
- In some cases determination of Fabric costing against Order.·
- Engage with Fabric Development for fabrics to exhibit.·
- Dealing with fabric supplier related to different issues like Quality, quantity, delivery, price and others parameters.·
- Study market trends, latest finishes and fabric developments.·
- Work with raw materials, garments and value added suppliers and visiting them ahead of season to collect and up to date new fabrics, embellishments, finishes, garments.·
- Responsible for fabric inspection and coordinating bulk fabric issues with fabric mills, garment factories, and customers.·
- Determine fabric risk in the fabric development stage. Monitor fabric development schedule, lab-dip, and action plan to ensure deadlines are met.·
- Dealing directly with suppliers & customers.·
- Attend all internal work meetings with QA teams and merchandising teams to set up effective tools & evaluation mechanisms.·
- Providing fabric technical support to the design and/or production team, carrying out color testing of fabrics and approving lab dips, sourcing and developing new fabrics based on fashion trends and working closely with the fabric mills, undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product.·
- Maintain a close liaison with the suppliers to ensure order placements are made with the right factories.·
- Identifying and resolving production issues.·
- Need to visit mills/factories periodically to evaluate capability & capacity.
