DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organisation working in Bangladesh since 1971. DCA is a faith-based, non-missionary organization. We work for the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded communities and believe in life before death. The DCA Bangladesh invites applications from qualified and competent Bangladeshi candidates for the position of Access Assistant for Rohingya Response Programme.
Overall purposes of the role:
The Access Assistant is responsible for assisting in all access and permission related activities in support of the location/office where s/he is based. The Access Assistant ensures all DCA, donor policies and procedures are always followed and adhered to.Responsibilities:
Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Liaison and Security officer, the Access Assistant is to assist in -
- Maintain Liaison and follow-up with government and regulatory authority offices and documentation departments, such as, DC, UNO, RRRC, CiCs, etc. offices.
- Deliver and collect (through coordination with Liaison and Security Officer) letters, reports and other documents and arrange timely submission/collection to/from the respective offices.
- Collecting and ensuring proper filing of letters, permissions, reports, and other documents generated from various offices, related to all the projects.
- Providing support for all the correct local permissions are to be obtained, for all the expat staffs, for their access to the camps and registration with relevant Government Departments.
- Participate in different coordination meetings organized at Upazila level, where relevant.
- Assist the Liaison and Security Officer to maintain liaison with the ISCG, CivMil coordinator and other law enforcement agencies working in the area.
- Assist the Liaison and Security Officer on all security related matters.
- Arrange to collect information and notify regarding all security incidents to the Security Focal Point (SFP) in due course.
- Contribute to updating the security manual by providing field inputs.
- In case of security incidences, assist the Liaison and Security Officer to liaise with local authorities.
- Work within the framework of DCA's core values.
- Strictly follow all safety and security procedures.
Additional Tasks
- On request perform any other additional duties assigned by the supervisor(s) to allow the organization to function optimally.

Professional skills and qualifications needed in the position
- University degrees (Bachelors) required.
- At least 1-year recent experience in access and permission related activities.
- At least 1-year recent experience in humanitarian emergency and/or development context shall get preference.
- Advanced negotiation skills, especially with the regulatory/government officials.
- Proven experience in working with national partners, local/government authorities.
- Ability to assess any security situation at the initial stage.
- Working experience with relevant fund managers/donors (e.g., UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA, UNHCR, ECHO, DANIDA, DFID etc) projects.
- Fluency in both Bangla and English.
- Good typing skills in Bangla (Avro and Bijoy both) and English.
