House Judiciary Committee set to vote on impeachment against President Trump

Democrats in the lower house of the US congress entered the last stages of its impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump last week, according to a recent report by Al Jazeera.  

The House Judiciary Committee, which approves articles of impeachment, will convene on December 9 (Monday) to formally receive the findings of the investigation against President Donald Trump. 

In a marathon hearing of the committee, they will hear from lawyers (of both Republicans and Democrats) to lay the groundwork for formal charges against the president. 

The House Judiciary Committee is expected to vote soon on at least two articles of impeachment against the Republican president. 

Once the formal charges are established, the members of the House will vote on them. 

Afterwards, a trial would be held in the Senate.  

Amidst this, a protester briefly interrupted the proceedings. Yelling as he was escorted out by security, the protester accused the Democrats of "leading the probe of being guilty of 'treason'." 

According to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, it is possible the committee would vote this week on at least two or more of the charges against the Republican president.
