5 of a family found dead in Delhi

Five members of a family including three children were found dead inside their residence at Bhajanpura area in northeast Delhi on Wednesday, police said. 

Shambhu, 45, a rickshaw puller along with his wife and three children were identified as the deceased, added police, Hindustan Times reported. 

"The police received a call around 11.30am today after neighbors complained of a foul smell emanating from the house," said, Northeast district deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Ved Prakash Surya adding that, the children were aged, 12, 14 and 18, respectively.

The victims could have died at least six days ago as their bodies were badly decomposed. One door was locked from inside, and the other one was bolted from outside, said the officer adding that three bodies were found in one room and two in another.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem. The cause of the death is yet to be confirmed. No note has been recovered from the spot, said the police.
