Kalinda Vazquez, widely-known for penning the "Fear the Walking Dead" series, is going to work with Paramount Pictures on its upcoming Star Trek movie.

It is going to be a top-draw for the lady if this project gets a greenlight as Vasquez will become the first woman to script a Star Trek movie, reports US magazine Variety.

At present, the details are still in the dark as Paramount has not been much vocab about the nature of Vazquez's approach and whether it includes any established "Star Trek" characters from the recent movies.

Though it would be her first trek movie, Vasquez is not unfamiliar with the franchise. She has recently written episodes of the burgeoning galaxy of "Trek" TV series and in 2020, she wrote the teleplay for "Terra Firma, Part 2," an episode of "Star Trek: Discovery".

After a notable drop-off of "Star Trek Beyond" the franchise has made several attempts to bring Star Trek back to the theaters.
