The actor went on to say that wearing a mask is “common sense”

'Greyhound' star Tom Hanks slammed people for not wearing masks amidst the pandemic.

The 'Forrest Gump' actor harshly criticized those declining to wear a mask. The actor said, "There's really only three things we can do in order to get to tomorrow: Wear a mask, social distance, wash our hands," he was quoted as saying. "Those things are so simple, so easy, if anybody cannot find it in themselves to practice those three very basic things -- I just think shame on you," according to reports by People magazine.

The actor went on to say that wearing a mask is "common sense" and that -"If you're driving a car, you don't go too fast, you use your turn signal and you avoid hitting pedestrians. My Lord, it's common sense."

The actor's statement comes in the middle of various anti-mask protests held in the United States.
