‘Serenjing’: A documentary that reflects the Garo folklore tales
“Serenjing” portrays the love story between two lovers Serenjing and Walzone as they both face the angst of separation
Travel life, a travel web platform will bring folklore story of "Serenjing" which depicts the story of Garo culture and values through a documentary.
"Serenjing" portrays the love story between two lovers Serenjing and Walzone as they both face the angst of separation amidst their true love for each other. Garo's believe that the story was created by their Supreme Deity Tatara Rabuga.
The 20 episode documentary shot at the beautiful locations of Lengura, Netrokona will feature their love story.
The documentary has been directed by Moshiur Rahman Kayesh and the screenplay of the folklore story has been written by Shah Muhammmed Musahid. Travel life's Ahsan Sajib has produced the documentary.
The documentary will soon be available on Youtube and the viewers will also have to join "travelifeweb.com," to watch the documentary.
"This was our first season and through this we wanted to highlight the authentic Garo lifestyle and folklore tales," said Director Moshiur Rahman.
He added that they were planning on creating more such interesting travel related videos in future.
"We are almost done with the post-production part of the project and we are looking forward to uploading the content in both Bangla and English for our viewers on Youtube," said Rahman.
In this documentary the role of "Serenjing" will be played by Fangshi ( Fatema ) Rongdi and the character of Walzone will be played by Duranto Manda.
Shah Santo relays the various travel related stories in the documentary while the mime character is enacted by Rifat Islam. Menon highlights the eco-tourism stories in the documentary.
Fangshi Rongdi who plays the lead character "Serenjing" said, "We had to work day and night to complete this drama."
"We tried hard to incorporate the Garo culture in the documentary and we are hoping that the audience will appreciate our work," saod Rongdi.
Anando Sarker has taken the helm of cinematography of the documentary while the Bangla voice over has been dubbed by Dr Suraiya Yasmin Hira.
The dances of the drama have been beautifully enacted by Shakhi Manda, Fingchi Jambil, Chanchiya Rongdi and Fangshi Rongdi.
The drama also includes actors such as Piyush Rongdi, Protibha Rongdi, Pronoti Manda and others.
