Sargam celebrates 25 years of publication
The monthly music magazine organised a limited and closed celebration programme featuring discussion session and musical performance to observe the occasion
'Sargam' the only regular monthly magazine on music in the country stepped into 25 years of the publication on October 1, 2020. To observe the occasion, Sargam organised a limited and closed celebration programme featuring discussion session and musical performance.
Sargam Sanskritik Dol started the musical session by rendering "Aguner Parashmoni Chowao Prane" in chorus. The day also marked the seventh founding anniversary of Sargam Sanskritik Dol, a leading cultural troupe in the country.
President of the cultural troupe and Editor of Sargam Quazi Rownaq Hossain expressed his gratitude to everyone present in the ceremony despite the fear of Coronavirus. He said, "We wanted to make this celebration a gorgeous one but due to Covid-19, we had to cancel the idea."
Chief Guest Muttalib Biswas, a veteran musicologist, in his speech noted the significant contribution of Sargam in the musical field of the country and applauded the editor and the Sargam team for their effort.
In the brief musical session Muttalib Biswas, Swapon Kumar Das, Ulka Hossain, Debashish Chakroborty, Ashraf Mahmud, Tashiba Trisha, Sohana, and a few others participated.
The programme took place at the Sargam mini auditorium at its central office located in the capital's Segun Bagicha.
