Director Sam Raimi has confirmed that he will direct the upcoming Marvel movie "Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness." While speaking to comingsoon.net, Raimi confirmed his official involvement with the movie.

Throughout the 2000s, Raimi made a trilogy of Spider-Man movies. Talking about the character Doctor Strange, Raimi said, "I loved Doctor Strange as a kid, but he was always after Spider-Man and Batman for me, he was probably at number five for me of great comic book characters. He was so original."

The Doctor Strange sequel is scheduled to be released in 2021. It is rumored to be the first horror film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
