Popular reality TV contestant Kishwar Chowdhury has reached the top 12 position with her Rangamati curry.

In an elimination round where the contestants were divided into pairs and were faced in a head-to-head challenge with their opponent on the other side of the wall. Kishwar was put up against her fellow contestant Sabina and there she impressed the judges with her 'Rangamati Barramundi Curry.'

In an Instagram post, Kishwar captioned her dish as a tribute to Rangamati, the capital of the Bangladesh Hill tracks and home to the Indigenous People of Bangladesh.

Kishwar wrote, "I visited Rangamati on my honeymoon and fell in love with the food, namely a chicken dish made with soy sauce and native herbs cooked inside a bamboo trunk over fire was blown away by how diverse Bengali cuisine is from the South-East Asian belt to the Persian flavours bought in by the Mughal Emperors…and hence sparked my interest in researching the origins of food and cuisines. I didn't have a bamboo trunk or the time to cook a whole chicken in this challenge, but I'm so glad I was able to show the judges some Indigenous Bengali cuisine."

The judges were impressed by Kishwar's curry which was cooked to perfection.

"You've got this ability to temper curries and put spices in a proportion that is just epic. There is no other way to describe it. It is always immaculately done" said Jock Zonfrillo

"The sauce was probably one of the best you've brought us" said Andy Ellen

Melissa Leong said, "Beautiful execution. Everything about this dish is fantastic"

The elimination round was supposed to take in two rounds where the winners of the first round would be declared safe while the losers had to compete in the second round.

Unfortunately, MasterChef contestant Brent decided to leave the competition midway and thus the second round was cancelled.
