IUBAT’s English dept stages Romeo and Juliet

The Department of English and Modern Languages of International University of Business Agriculture & Technology (IUBAT) along with the British Council organised a cultural programme where they staged William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet on March 11, followed by the certificate awarding ceremony of the book reading competition.

At the outset, the Chairman, Department of English and Modern Languages, Prof Dr Momtazur Rahman delivered the welcoming speech. Director of British Council, Cristy Crawford was the chief guest while Treasurer of IUBAT, Prof Selina Nargis attended the programme as special guest. 

William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet was performed by students of the inaugural batch of BAEng programme and directed by Kawsar Uddin, Assistant Professor of the department. The event was preceded by the certificate awarding ceremony of the book reading competition, organised by the department. The drama was the first event of its kind in the cultural journey of the university.
