‘I was fortunate enough to grow up in a musical environment’
The talented musician Amid Hossain not only focuses on music but also aspires to have a parallel and successful career in the corporate world as well.
Emerging musician Amid Hossain spent his childhood in the Mogbazaar area where he had the opportunity to mingle with musicians like Ayub Bachchu, Bappa Mazumder, Manam Ahmed, Ripon Khan, among others whose influence gave young Amid the courage to follow his dreams of being a musician.
"Ayub Bachchu was my neighbour, I was so lucky to have that musical influence from the early days of my life, and that is how my musical journey began," said Amid, who recently lent his voice for the Bangla version of a dance number that features Bollywood's Hritik Roshan.
The song, "DNA Te Dance" is composed by celebrated Indian composers Vishal and Shekhar, and sung by Amid Hossain Chowdhury.
The professional RJ turned young singer is known for his melodic songs among music lovers. He has established himself as an OST singer for contemporary dramas. Some of the popular OST by Amid includes "Shopnora Dana Mele," "Tor Karone, Shokhi Go," "Ma," "Nil Ronga Pori" and "Icche Ghuri."
Amid was always surrounded by musicians and grew up in an environment that helped him to start a career in the music industry.
Amid's father, the notable Tagore singer Fahim Hossain Chowdhury paved the way for him as well.
Moreover, in 2013, Amid was one of the top contestants of Bangladeshi Idol.
Later, Amid worked with Ayub Bachchu on the project, 'Acustica Live'. Additionally, he performed at various events in both Dhaka and Chattogram with Ayub Bachchu.
Besides, Bangladeshi Idol, Amid is also one of the winners of Gaan Bangla's Airtel Spotlight.
" I had an alternative rock band when I was in school, and that was my first venture as a musician, '' recalled Amid during an interview with The Business Standard.
Since then, Amid's has traversed a long way and established himself as a promising young musician in the industry.

Previously, he worked for Radio Foorti as their Brand and Partnership Head and hosted multiple shows at Radio Foorti as an RJ.
After finishing A levels, Amid attended Monash University in Malaysia to complete an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance.
He came back to Bangladesh in early 2013 and started working with an audit firm.
"I had straight As in both O levels and A levels and was a recipient of the Daily Star Award."
"I joined Monash University with an entrance scholarship and my double major was in Accounting, banking and finance," he recalled.
"While I was working at the audit firm, Bangladesh Idol came to our country, I kind of risked my career in accounting and participated in the contest."
"However, I want to succeed and pursue both of my music and corporate career successfully."
Currently, Amid is working on original tracks, while singing for jingles, dramas, telefilms.
" I want to release music videos for my songs soon."
