Dwayne Johnson said, “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer.”

Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as "The Rock", in an interview with USA Today said that he would consider in the US presidential race if thats what the American people wanted.

Johnson said, "Truly I mean that, and I'm not flippant in any way with my answer."

The wrestler now turned movie star is currently promoting a new NBC series based on his life called Young Rock, where, in the year 2032, he launches a presidential run, reports the Independent.

In real life, the decision to run for president would be "up to the people", he said.

"So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground."

"A year ago, it started coming up more and more," the Fate of the Furious actor told GQ at the time. "There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think 'Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.'"

In the past, Johnson, who is registered Independent, spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2000 and attended the Democratic National Convention the same year, reports the Independent.

More recently, Johnson endorsed President Joe Biden during his 2020 run.

"... as a registered Independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become President, and Vice President, of our United States," Johnson said in a video posted on Twitter last September.
