Actress Demi Moore risks it all to lift the veil of Hollywood fame and its illusion.

Born into a dysfunctional family, American actor and film producer Demi Moore inherited addiction from her mother. Recalling her early days, she wrote in her 2019 memoir "Inside Out", "The next thing I remember is using my fingers, the small fingers of a child, to dig the pills my mother had tried to swallow out of her mouth while my father held it open and told me what to do. Something very deep inside me shifted then, and it never shifted back. My childhood was over."

In her memoir, the actor tells a flesh and bone story about her life. Moore risks it all to lift the veil of Hollywood fame and its illusion.

During her heyday, Demi was a tabloid favorite for various reasons. Be it for trailblazing movie roles, controversial photoshoot or famed affairs, she was constantly under the public radar. At 56, Demi invites her readers to a chilling journey of agony, abuse and success encircling her life.

Inside Out holds accounts of her much scrutinized multiple marriages, as well as her unimaginably abusive childhood that started miles before she started walking the streets of Hollywood. And in between, the readers get glimpses of her rise to stardom.

With a suicidal mother, cocaine addiction and the zeal to live on her own, Moore has had it all. Her life is a journey of agony and fame. The tell-alls may sound too good to be true at times, but the minute details did not shy away from revealing the actor's naked truth.

Demi is known to be married, and then separated, with actors Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher. But her previous two marriages, unknown to most people, made its way to the memoir.

Demi married Bruce in 1997, which she described by saying, "Bruce literally swept me off my feet." However, the couple divorced each other just five years later in 2002. Moore, till this day, is friends with Bruce. As the current coronavirus pandemic is putting people under a global lockdown, Demi and ex-husband Bruce have self-isolated themselves in the same house with their kids. This move attests to the kind of woman Demi is - free spirited, yet rational.

Demi had faced countless incidences of hardship, but losing a child in miscarriage left a remarkable scar on her conscience. This had her slipping back into substance abuse, despite her long record of sobriety. Moore has inked down all such miseries in her memoir in vivid details.

Inside Out is a good read if you have a fondness for memoirs. If there is a list of must read celebrity memoirs, Inside Out will be among the chart toppers.
