Dakota will be seen playing the character of Anne Elliot who is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities

"Fifty Shades of Gray" actress Dakota Johnson is all set to star in Netflix's adaptation of Jane Austen's "Persuasion."

Dakota will be seen playing the character of Anne Elliot who is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities.

Netflix ensured its audience that the latest adaptation will have a modern take while still remaining true to the classic novel.

The film's official logline reads: "Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, Anne Elliot is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities. When Frederick Wentworth—the dashing one she once sent away—crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances."

"Persuasion" was the last novel written by Jane Austen. The novel has been adapted for the screen numerous times, including the 2007 TV movie starring Sally Hawkins.

The production of Netflix's "Persuasion" is expected to begin in May.
