The three-day film festival titled Joyeeta Foundation film festival 2021 has ended on Tuesday.

State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan was present at the programme which was organised by Bangladesh International Film Movement in patronisation of Joyeeta Foundation.

Advisor to SS Communication and Founder of Bangabandhu Digital Museum Shawkat Hasan Miah, President of Bangladesh Digital Film Movement Dildar Hossain, Chairman of Fobana Zakaria Chowdhury, National Film Award winning actress and producer Sujata, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance and Spokesperson Arun Sarkar Rana, and Shafiullah Sumon, CEO of SS Communications, spoke at the occasion.

The minister Murad Hasan said, "Films tell stories about life and society. It is important to organise film festivals across the country to bring back the lost glory of local films as well as to provide healthy entertainment to the new generation. The government as well as industrial entrepreneurs need to come forward so that women producers also become more film oriented."

Dildar Hossain, president of Bangladesh International Film Movement, said the Joyeeta Foundation Film Festival, dedicated to women filmmakers, was organised commemorating the late Bangladeshi novelist Rabeya Khatun, the release said.

On the closing day of the festival, special honors were given to female filmmaker and actress Sujata, Director Nargis Akhter and actress Shahnoor and Jinat Hasan for her humanitarian services.

The three-day festival screened Kohinoor Akhter Suchanda's film Hazar Bochor Dhore", Nargis Akhter's "Meghla Aakash", Samia Zaman's "Rani Kuthir Baaki Itihash", Mausumi's "Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishty", Shahnewaz Kakli's "Uttorer Shur" and Nanjiba Khan's "The Wanted Twin". 

Media partners at Joyeeta Foundation Film Festival 2021 were Channel I, JoyJatra Television and Telepress. The festival was co-sponsored by Diamond World and airlines partner US Bangla Airlines.
