The record for the fastest 10 million views was previously held by the band's previous hit, "Dynamite," that premiered in August 2020.
"Dynamite" had managed 10 million views in 21 minutes. It was BTS' first song to be released entirely in English and it went on to become the biggest 24-hour debut in YouTube history with over 101.1 million views.
The staggering numbers have been released by PopBase, a content distribution and management platform, and YouTube will release the official numbers in a few days.
With the new dance-pop single 'Butter', the lads of BTS embrace huge '80s vibes after lighting up 2020 with 'Dynamite.' The boys weren't joking when they said the song will focus more on exhibiting each of their 'charms' because of the funky synth-bass fusion and the uber-cool music video.
While the song lives up to the hype produced by the funky teaser, it's the boys - RM, V, Jin, J-Hope, SUGA, Jung Kook, and Jimin who really shine in the video, not just by hitting the high notes, but also by bringing on their suave, stylish, and groovy sides.
Columbia Records chairman Ron Perry, who has worked closely with the group since he took the Sony Music label's helm at the beginning of 2018, and is listed as a writer and producer on the track.
