Streaming giant Netflix offers a wide range of Al Pacino films for film enthusiasts.  Al Pacino is one of the greatest actors of all time who has established himself as an iconic Hollywood figure through his acting skills.

Scent of a Woman

As a retired blind Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade, Pacino gave one of his most phenomenal performances in the film. 

To prepare for the role, Pacino did extensive research. He tried to understand what it feels like to be blind and met people who had lost their eyesights due to trauma. 

Pacino won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Scent of a Woman.

Directed by Martin Brest, "Scent of a Woman" is a remake of Dino Risi's Italian film, "Profumo di donna." 

Released in 1992, the film earned  134,095,253 worldwide. It is considered to be one of the greatest films by film critics and has a rating of 8/10 on IMDb. 

The Godfather trilogy

Al Pacino played the iconic character of Michael Corleone in all three movies of The Godfather series.

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, The Godfather trilogy is considered a classic in terms of cinematic language. Visual aesthetics of the franchise made it a masterpiece. 

The iconic mafia movies are based on Mario Puzo's best-selling eponymous novel published in 1969.

The Irishman 

The iconic duo of Robert De Niro and Pacino reunited for another gangster masterpiece with their fourth big-screen collaboration, The Irishman."

The legendary actors shared the screen in Michael Mann's crime thriller "Heat," after more than two decades of the release of Godfather Part II."

Distributed by Netflix, the crime film is directed by none other than Martin Scorsese. The film also features Joe Pesci who reportedly came out of an unofficial retirement for the film. 

Based on the nonfiction book "I Heard You Paint Houses" by Charles Brandt, the story of the film revolves around a hitman and his gangster friend, Jimmy Hoffa, through the 1950 to the 1970s.

The Irishman has bagged multiple awards and received positive reviews from both the critics and audiences.  

Hangman 

The 2017 movie Hangman is set in the fictional Southern city of Monroe. The story follows a series of murders committed by a serial killer, who follows a titular word game to have fun and provide clues.

Pacino plays the role of detective Ray Archer who comes out of retirement to find the murderer.

Insomnia 

Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan's psychological thriller Insomnia is a great addition to the list of Al Pacino films on Netflix. The film is a remake of a Norwegian film of the same name. 

Besides Al Pacino, the cast of the film features Robin Williams, Hilary Swank, Maura Tierney, Martin Donovan, Nicky Katt and Paul Dooley, among others. Pacino brings the character of detective Will Dormer to life,  who is a complicated and mysterious man himself.

Set under the gloomy weather of Alaska, the film follows two homicide detectives who are sent to the northern town to investigate the methodical murder of a local teen.

Nolan narrated the twisted and complex story in neo-noir style. 

Released in 2002, "Insomnia" is one of the cinematic masterpieces by Nolan.
