Actress Kabari on life support

Veteran actress Sarah Begum Kabari has been put on life support at Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital in Dhaka.

She was hospitalised with Covid-19 infection on 7 April. As her condition deteriorated, doctors put her on life support today afternoon.

"Her lunge is not functioning well," Prothom Alo quoted Professor Dr Faruk Ahmed, director of the hospital, as saying.

Kabari caught fever and tested positive for the viral disease recently.

The actress made her film debut in 1964 with the movie 'Sutarang' and has been acting since then.

Apart from acting, she directed and produced a number of films. In the national election of 2008, she was elected Member of Parliament from Narayanganj.
