Daraz gaming platform announces e-sports championship tournament

Daraz First Games (DFG), an innovative gaming platform of Alibaba group concern Daraz Bangladesh, has announced a popular youth-based e-sports game 'Free-Fire Championship' on their app.

The Free-Fire Championship tournament has a total prize pool of BDT 2,50,000.

The first winner of the tournament will get a BDT 1 lakh voucher. The second, third, fourth and fifth winner will get vouchers worth BDT – 40,000, 25,000, 20,000 and 15,000 respectively. The 6th to 10th winners will each get a Daraz voucher worth BDT 10,000.

Registration will open through the Daraz app from July 16 and will continue till July 20. A maximum of one lakh people can register free of cost on the Daraz First Games.

The final tournament will be held on July 23rd, 24th and 25th, where the contestants will have to pass the qualifier, group stage to play the final match.

Launched in May, Daraz First Games (DFG) aims to connect millions of Bangladeshis over online tournaments while practicing social distancing at home.

Barish Khandaker, head of traffic operations at Daraz Bangladesh Limited said, "Games like- PUBG or Call of Duty are very popular among the young generation of our country these days, thus we have decided to organize another popular game of those e-sports called Free-Fire Tournament. Hopefully the free-fire match will be more exciting than the last ludo tournament."
