Spanish envoy meets PM's foreign adviser; discusses expanding trade, investment ties
The Spanish ambassador praised Bangladesh's ongoing economic progress, investment-friendly environment, and strategic geographic position.
Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Gabriel María Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon today (18 June).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen and diversify the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Spain, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, renewable energy, infrastructure development, tourism, agriculture, education, technology, and skilled workforce development, said a press release.
The Spanish ambassador praised Bangladesh's ongoing economic progress, investment-friendly environment, and strategic geographic position, it said.
He expressed Spain's interest in increasing investment and commercial engagement in Bangladesh, particularly in the manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors, as well as other promising industries.
The discussions also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries, the release added.
